Training for the representatives of acting NGOs in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli.

PMMG has conducted trainings within the framework of the project ,,Delivery of assistance to civil society development in ethnic minority regions of Georgia’’, which is financed by American fund National Endowment for Democracy, for the representatives of acting NGOs in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli.

The training was aimed at strengthening the role of civil societal actors in activation of civil activism in ethnic minorities’ compactly resided municipalities of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions and to give them necessary skills so that they can better lobby local problems with the local governments. Besides, during the training participants were given the opportunity to better ascertain the value of the national reforms, done by the government for the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU in order to be able to actively monitor the implementation of these reforms in the future. At the same training participants were given the knowledge of the importance of holding democratic elections and the long-term monitoring of election process to ensure effective implementation of the commitments undertaken under the Association Agreement with the European Union's role in the implementation process.

The goal of the project financed by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is to deliver an assistance in building the capacities of civil societal representatives in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions in order to better enable them carry out respective lobbying and advocacy campaigns with regard to the solution of locally persisting problems and challenges as well as to play an important role in the promotion of reforms on the central level in line with enabling the target groups to actively participate in the deliberation of policy options towards the EU approximation.
