Training for Regional Media

The training was conducted by the Public Movement Multinational Georgia for journalists from Kakheti’, Samtskhe-Javakheti’, Kvemo Kartli’, Guria’, Imereti’ and Samegrelo’ regional media. Besides of main trainer, Mr. Paata Gachechiladze’s (union “21-th century”) interesting speech, the participants were listened the lectures about tolerance and anti-discrimination legislation from the representatives of Ombudsman’s Office as well as the State agency for Religious Issues. Although one-day training for journalists was conducted by the chairwoman of GARB, Natia Kuprashvili. She introduced to participants the essence of peace journalism, the world practice and the specific examples. With the help of practical examples and sharing each other’s experience journalists increased their knowledge. The last day of the training the program participants devised recommendations for civil society, state agencies as well as media how to better tackle the problem directly related to societal abuses and discrimination based on religious affiliation, belief, or practice.
